Pictures from Aunt Meredith’s visit

Molly’s sister Meredith just left after visiting for about a week or so. She was able to spend most of the days with James, which freed me up to work on packing up parts of the apartment and moving whatever stuff I could carry over to the new place. So that was great.

Anyway, Meredith took a lot of good pictures, so I uploaded them onto our computer this morning … so I could share them with the rest of you.

Even though he was watching one of his Baby Einstein videos, he’d always rather be posing for pictures.

He’s finally gotten the hang of the sippy-cup.

He’s really becoming quite the smiler. In fact, his smiles are getting so big that they sometimes involve his whole face …

… kinda like this.

Here’s Molly teaching us all a lesson about what happens when you leave oven mitts on hot burners. That’s lasagna, by the way … and it was awesome.

Just casually eatin’ some Cheerios.

This is Molly “letting” him chew on a pizza crust. (She never actually took her hand off of it.)

And this is him taking a break from the pizza crust to stare blankly at the camera.

One of his new faces.

I can’t believe how big he looks in this picture. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that I was looking at an ultrasound image of little 8-millimeter-long jelly bean with a heartbeat.

July 4th outfit turned gangsta.

Here he is shoving the bottle of baby lotion into his mouth while Molly tries to get him ready for bed. She’d just given him a bath.

Mr. Campbell flew in on Friday and stayed for the weekend, so James was able to spend some time with Pop Pop.

Thanks for visiting, Aunt Mer!

It’s a good thing I was standing right there to catch him.

By the way, …

… if you’re not watching the U.S. Open today, you’re crazy. And if you missed Tiger’s back-9 last night, you should build yourself a time machine so you can go back and watch it happening live.

Un … be … lievable.

UPDATE: In case you missed it, click here. I used to think it was a bit of an exaggeration when people would say things like, “We’ll look back and consider ourselves privileged to have been able to witness Tiger Woods” … but these days, I absolutely agree. I just hope he’s still doing stuff like this by the time James is old enough to appreciate it.

And I really don’t even care if he wins in the playoff tomorrow (Rocco Mediate is such a cool guy; he deserves it just as much as Tiger … if not more). This has just been so fun to watch.

Updates to the blog

Molly said the blog needed a little more color, so I’ve given it a blue brown background, … but I may be playing around with it some more in the near future. So if you happen to visit the blog one day and see that everything looks messed up … just give it a little time; I’ll fix it.

I’ve also changed the list of links over to the right. And you might notice that I’ve added links to two other blogs. The first is that of Marc and Trisha Matthews, which I mentioned a few days ago. The second is that of Mark (Molly’s brother) and Janna (Mark’s wife) Campbell. As I’ve mentioned a few times before, Janna is preggers with a little girl … and due to give birth at the end of July. You can follow along with the last couple months of their pregnancy, etc., over on their blog.

I should change the picture at the top of the blog, too. As much as I love it, he just doesn’t really look like that anymore.

Happy Fathers Day.
